You may have doubts about whether it was the right decision, or whether you really want to talk to a stranger about your problems. Remember, if you could resolve your conflict alone, you would not have called in the first place. Don't let your doubt keep you from finding the help you need to move on with your life. |

What to Expect...
You will be asked to do some simple paperwork on your first visit. This usually includes insurance and billing information, and a questionnaire for your counselor that will help you identify problem areas and issues you want to discuss. When this is complete, you will meet with your counselor for the first session. Generally the first session is approximately 90 minutes, and following sessions are about an hour in length. As your therapist begins to understand your particular situation, your family history and background, he or she will will help you understand more of the "cause and effects" in your life, and be in a position to help you learn about yourself and what is root cause to your problems. Your therapist will assist you in learning new ways of dealing with relationships and situations. In a way, counseling is like classroom learning. You will acquire knowledge about yourself, and learn better ways to manage your life.
